From Home’s Tom Ottway appears on Youth Rising Podcast
In this post, Tom Ottway, one of the three co-founders of the From Home project, discusses his experiences of appearing on the Youth Rising podcast…
“This was a really great experience. I was interviewed by Llewelyn, Eva and Samuel, who I thought did an amazing job. It’s really worth a listen. Basically, Youth Rising by NCS podcast is completely run by 16-17 year olds in England. It is a Somethin’ Else production, funded by the UK Government to provide a voice for young people. This week’s episode was all about how new communities have come together during lockdown, and I was talking about both my experience of teaching for the University of Sussex, as a lecturer in Sound Design in the School of Media, Film and Music, now that everything has gone online, and in particular on the From Home project to help capture the experiences of home around the globe during the CV19 pandemic.”More details from the Youth Rising website:
Youth Rising is made by young people from all over England. For our 14th episode, we have strictly adhered to the UK’s Covid-19 lockdown rules, recording remotely to bring you stories from isolation.
Firstly we look at communities, the groups that have continued to grow and new groups that have formed in the lockdown. Our reporter’s Llewelyn, Eva and Samuel held a discussion with Pinewood Judo Club’s Head Coach Mark Fricker and Tom Ottway the founder of ‘From Home’ In this week’s isolation diaries we challenged Caitlin to learn Spanish and Samuel to play the guitar. And if you’re stuck for some new games to play The Lockdown Lowdown is all about games and gaming.
