Short films starring Greta Scacchi and Samuel West in post-production
Our latest short films, starring Greta Scacchi and Samuel West, are now in various stages of post-production. Both The Arena and Homecoming were filmed during late 2020, facing different production challenges due to restrictions around the pandemic.
For The Arena, filming outside with a minimal crew meant that it was relatively straightforward to comply with filming restrictions, in order to capture a moving performance by Greta Scacchi. We are waiting on some good weather to film the final scenes that feature the main production character’s son, while editing together Greta’s performance in both an English and Italian version of the film.
Filming on Homecoming, featuring Samuel West on the stage of the Theatre Royal, Brighton, was more of a challenge as we had a larger crew operating indoors, but it was an exciting experience to be able to film inside a theatre at a time when no live performances were otherwise possible on stage during lockdown. Homecoming is currently being edited and is nearly complete.
Both films will be released separately and can be enjoyed by themselves, but will also form a sequence with a new edit of The Last Lighthouse Keeper to create a series of engaging performances investigating our places within history, time and memory.
